In anticipation of the most joyful Christian celebration—the Resurrection of Christ— Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia joined students of the “King Peter I” Elementary School in painting Easter eggs on Holy Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the courtyard of the Cathedral Church in Belgrade.
The church grounds were filled with the cheerful sounds of children’s laughter and excitement during this festive afternoon. As the young students carefully decorated eggs in honor of the greatest Feast of the Lord, a wave of delight swept through the courtyard when the children saw the Patriarch himself enter the church yard.
In a warm and joyful gathering, the Patriarch took part in the activity, painting eggs alongside the children. He also offered a heartfelt message about the significance of Christ’s Resurrection, emphasizing its profound importance for the salvation of every human being.
The event created lasting memories and served as a beautiful expression of community, faith, and tradition as the Serbian Orthodox Church and its youngest members prepared to celebrate the Feast of Pascha.
