Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, met on November 5, 2024, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade with Mr. Vakhtang Kipshidze, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Moscow Patriarchate, and Mr. Alexey Sokolov, Editor-in-Chief of the church magazine Toma.
The guests acquainted Patriarch Porfirije with the Russian Orthodox Church’s media and communications initiatives, highlighting the pivotal shift from traditional outlets such as print and television to modern online platforms and social media.
The meeting provided a platform for an exchange of valuable insights and experiences concerning the Church’s evolving mission. Both parties expressed a shared aspiration for deepening cooperation and strengthening ties in the future.
The reception was attended by Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Chief of Staff of the Serbian Patriarchate; Mr. Dušan Stokanović, Director of the Information and Publishing Institution of the Serbian Orthodox Church; Mrs. Marija Markin, Toma magazine’s representative in Serbia; Mr. Sergey Stamat, associate of Toma magazine; Mrs. Olivera Jovanović, Editor-in-Chief of Pravoslavlje, the official newspaper of the Serbian Patriarchate; and Mr. Miljan Nikitović, officer of the Serbian Patriarch’s Cabinet.
