Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia met on 28 November 2025 at the Patriarchal Court in Belgrade with Metropolitan Georgios of Kitrus, Katerini and Platamon, who also serves as a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
In a warm and fraternal discussion, Patriarch Porfirije and Metropolitan Georgios exchanged views on current issues in church life, the witness of faith in today’s world, and the shared commitment of Orthodox peoples to affirm—through love and mutual support—the unity of the Body of Christ.
Patriarch Porfirije expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Georgios for his sincere and active goodwill, shown especially through his pastoral care and hospitality toward Serbian children, youth, and clergy who for decades have found joy, comfort, and a gentle fraternal environment in the Metropolis of Kitrus.
On 27 November 2025, Metropolitan Georgios delivered a lecture in the packed amphitheater of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade on the topic: Living with a Different Perspective – The Church’s Mission in the Contemporary World.
