Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia received the Ambassador of Greece to Serbia, Georgios Diacofotakis, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on March 24, 2021.
In a cordial conversation with the Greek ambassador, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije expressed gratitude to the state leadership of Greece, as well as to the Ambassador himself, for their congratulations on his election and enthronement.
Speaking about the importance of Serbian-Greek friendship, the Patriarch emphasized that, on March 25, in accordance with health protocols, a traditional prayerful act of thanksgiving would be served on the Greek Indenpendence Day in the Patriarchal Chapel of St. Simeon the Myrrh-gusher.
Ambassador Diacofotakis thanked Patriarch Porfirije for the cordial welcome and dedication in nurturing brotherly Greek-Serbian relations.
The meeting was attended by the First Secretary of the Embassy of Greece, Dimitrios Mihalis, and the head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch, Deacon Aleksandar Prascevic.
