On May 1, 2025, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, together with Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka, held a cordial meeting with Metropolitan Philotheos of Thessaloniki at the Patriarchal Residence within the Saint Sava Temple complex in Vračar, Belgrade.
Metropolitan Philotheos was accompanied by Mr. Alexandros Katsiáras, Editor-in-Chief of Ekklesia Radio and the theological journal Theologia.
The conversation unfolded in a spirit of Christian love and mutual respect. The hierarchs exchanged views on current issues facing the Church, placing particular emphasis on the importance of spiritual unity, inter-Orthodox cooperation, and the common witness of Gospel values in contemporary society.
Patriarch Porfirije and Metropolitan Philotheos expressed joy over this fraternal encounter and affirmed their hope for the continued strengthening of ties between the two sister Orthodox Churches.
