Today, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia sent a congratulatory message to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, in honor of the Feast of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church’s name day.
The message reads, in part:
“With a spirit of fraternal love and unbreakable unity in the Orthodox faith, I offer my heartfelt congratulations on your name day, the feast of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril, the enlightener of the Slavic peoples.
May the Lord, through the intercessions of your heavenly patron, grant you long life, spiritual strength, and wisdom in your patriarchal ministry upon the throne of the Russian Orthodox Church—the Patriarchate of Moscow—to the joy of the faithful and the glory of the Holy Church of Christ.”
As we approach the forthcoming Feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius, we greet you with brotherly love in Christ Jesus, praying earnestly for your health and well-being.
Many years to you!”
