On the evening of April 21, 2025, a high-ranking delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church, led by Patriarch Porfirije, arrived in Moscow for an official visit during the Bright Week following Pascha.
The delegation was warmly received at Sheremetyevo International Airport by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, along with the Serbian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Momčilo Babić.
Patriarch Porfirije is accompanied by a distinguished entourage that includes Archbishop of Novi Sad and Metropolitan Irinej of Bačka, Archimandrite Hariton, Abbot of Kovilj Monastery; Protopresbyter Đorđe Stojisavljević, Head of the Patriarch’s Cabinet; Protopresbyter-Deacon Radomir Vrućinić, Rector of the Theological Seminary in Belgrade; Protodeacon Radojica Žagran; Archdeacon Justin of Kovilj Monastery; Deacon Ivan Vasiljević; and subdeacons Dejan Nakić and Vladimir Jelić.
The visit is expected to include meetings with church and political leaders, liturgical celebrations, and visits to holy sites across the Moscow region.
