In his message for the 2024-2025 academic year, Patriarch Daniel of Romania extended heartfelt congratulations and blessings to students, parents, grandparents, and educators. Emphasizing the significance of Christian education, he urged the community to cultivate Christian values in the family, church, and school.
Patriarch Daniel highlighted that the core purpose of Christian education is to foster spiritual growth and communion with God. The Patriarch emphasized that achieving this ideal requires divine assistance, stating, “He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
In his message, the Patriarch of Romania stressed that Christian education, grounded in the Holy Scriptures, is crucial for spiritual development. He pointed out that this education begins in the family, where the lifestyle of parents and grandparents plays a vital role, and continues in the church and school through the patience and love of educators.
Patriarch Daniel noted that Christian education helps illuminate the deeper meanings of life, counteract contemporary identity crises, and promote models of goodness and holiness. He urged that both church and school play essential roles in fostering a good coexistence in society, aligning with the guidance of the Holy Apostle Paul, who wrote, “Clothe yourselves… with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience… And over all these virtues put on love” (Colossians 3:12-14).
Concluding his message, the Patriarch prayed for divine enlightenment and fruitful outcomes for all involved in the educational process and family life. He invoked the guidance of the Lord Jesus Christ, the “Teacher” and “Savior,” to bring blessings and strength to the community.
