Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church highlighted the blessing of families, especially those who give birth to or adopt children, in his homily for the Feast of the Annunciation on Wednesday.
“On this day of the Annunciation in particular, we greatly value God’s blessing upon all families, and especially upon families who bring children into the world or who receive and adopt children,” the Patriarch said at the end of his homily.
The feast celebrates the conception of the Saviour Jesus Christ in the womb of the Virgin Mary, with her consent.
In this context, Patriarch Daniel also referred to the Month and March for Life, a series of annual events held in March.
“For several years now, in Romania, the month of March has been dedicated to prayer and reflection for the protection of children’s lives, and in particular, the March for Life is organised, which this year, 2026, will take place on 28 March.”
The Patriarch of Romania stressed that the March for Life promotes in society the inestimable value of human life as a gift from God.
