On Wednesday, Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church issued a message of condolences and solidarity following the tragic road accident that occurred on Tuesday near the area of Lugojelul. The accident claimed the lives of seven Greek PAOK supporters, who were traveling to France to attend a match of their team.
In his message, the Patriarch expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which resulted in the death of seven Greek citizens and the serious injury of three others. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and assured prayers for the recovery of those who were injured.
“In these difficult moments of suffering and sorrow, we extend our condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and pray for the healing of those who were seriously injured in this tragedy,” Patriarch Daniel stated.
In the full message, he emphasized the Church’s prayerful support, saying that with hope in God’s help and mercy, prayers are offered “that our Savior Jesus Christ may grant rest among the righteous to the souls of those who have passed away, and bestow both spiritual and physical healing upon the injured.”
