Patriarch Kirill of Moscow sent warm congratulations to Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria on the anniversary of his enthronement.
In his letter, Patriarch Kirill addressed Patriarch Daniel as a beloved brother and fellow servant at the throne of God. He expressed heartfelt congratulations on “Patriarch Daniel’s election and installation on the venerable Bulgarian Patriarchal Throne.”
Patriarch Kirill praised Patriarch Daniel’s dedication to continuing “the work of his revered predecessors, emphasizing his care for the spiritual growth of the Bulgarian people entrusted to him, the development of religious education, and the upbringing of the younger generation in the holy faith of the Church Fathers.” He acknowledged “the heavy burden of patriarchal service that Patriarch Daniel carries with honor,” inspiring his contemporaries “through his sermons and setting an example for his flock through a life of piety”.
Taking the opportunity, Patriarch Kirill also expressed gratitude to Patriarch Daniel for “his support of the persecuted Ukrainian Orthodox Church”, under Metropolitan Onufriy, and for “every word spoken in defense of their suffering brethren.”
