Patriarch Kirill of Moscow has conveyed his congratulations to Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria on the occasion of his name day, according to a message released by the Moscow Patriarchate.
In his message, Patriarch Kirill was reported to have extended his heartfelt wishes to Patriarch Daniel, referring to him as a beloved brother and fellow celebrant at the altar of God. He emphasized the spiritual significance of the feast, noting that Patriarch Daniel’s heavenly patron, Saint Daniel the Stylite, is a great ascetic and renowned miracle-worker, described in Scripture as a man “full of the Holy Spirit and of faith” (Acts 11:24).
Patriarch Kirill expressed the belief that Saint Daniel the Stylite continually intercedes before the Lord not only for the health and salvation of Patriarch Daniel personally, but also for the well-being and steadfastness in truth of the entire Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
According to the message, Patriarch Kirill prayed that, through the saint’s intercessions, the Almighty would preserve Patriarch Daniel in strength and inner peace, granting him abundant assistance in the demanding and responsible service of his patriarchal ministry.
The greeting concluded with warm wishes for God’s continued grace and support as Patriarch Daniel carries out his pastoral responsibilities at the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.
