In his letter to Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, he expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy, conveyed sympathy to the victims and the Venezuelan people, and assured them of his prayers for the recovery of the injured, comfort for those mourning their losses, and strength for medical personnel and rescue workers involved in relief efforts.

I was deeply saddened to learn of the earthquake in Venezuela, which claimed the lives of many people, left numerous others injured, and caused significant damage to the country’s infrastructure.
Sharing in the grief of all those affected by this tragedy, I extend my heartfelt sympathy to them and to the entire Venezuelan people.
I offer prayers to the Merciful God for the speedy recovery of the injured, for comfort to those who mourn, and for strength and perseverance to the medical personnel and rescue workers engaged in relief efforts.
