Patriarch Kirill of Moscow congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on his election to the office of President of Ukraine.
The Patriarch of Moscow in his message expressed hope that his victory in the elections would be the starting point for ending the persecution of the faithful who belong to the Orthodox Ukrainian Church of the Patriarchate of Moscow.
“You have been given a historic chance to unite the nation and make a personal contribution to the solution of economic and social problems in the county and to overcoming the existing conflicts and divisions,” said the head of the Church of Russia.
