Patriarch Kirill of Moscow sent official birthday greetings to Mahmoud Abbas, President of Palestine, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.
In his message, Patriarch Kirill described President Abbas as an “experienced and farsighted statesman” who consistently advocates for peace in the Palestinian territories, noting the hardships endured by the Palestinian people in recent years. He emphasized that Abbas’s dedication to public service and his balanced approach to contemporary challenges have earned him respect both in the Middle East and internationally.
The Patriarch also expressed gratitude for the President’s commitment to preserving Christian holy sites in Palestine, which attract pilgrims from around the world.
Concluding his wishes, Patriarch Kirill wished President Abbas strength and success in his responsibilities, and expressed hope for “lasting and just peace” and well-being for the people of Palestine.
