On April 16, 2026, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow met with Mikhail Mishustin at the Patriarchal and Synodal residence in the Danilov Monastery.
During the meeting, which took place in a formal and cordial atmosphere, Patriarch Kirill presented Prime Minister Mishustin with the Order of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, First Class. The award was given in recognition of his contribution to the development of relations between the Church and the state, as well as on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
The Order of Saint Sergius of Radonezh is one of the highest distinctions of the Russian Orthodox Church, honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to the Church’s mission and its cooperation with public institutions.
