Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem sent his heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery to Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, following the Archbishop’s brief hospitalization at “G. Gennimatas” General Hospital after feeling unwell on Sunday afternoon.
Archbishop Ieronymos was discharged on Monday morning, saying he felt “much better.”
In his letter, Patriarch Theophilos expressed fraternal concern and prayerful support, writing: “Having learned of Your Beatitude’s recent minor health difficulty, which led to your preventive admission to the General Hospital of Athens, we hasten to express our wishes for a swift recovery and your prompt return to the sacred and responsible mission of guiding the Holy Church of beloved Greece.”
He further added words of spiritual encouragement: “This trial, endured with humility and patience, bears witness to faith and hope in God, recalling the words of Saint Paul: ‘My strength is made perfect in weakness’ (2 Cor. 12:9) and ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ (Phil. 4:13).”
Concluding his message, Patriarch Theophilos prayed: “We beseech before the Holy and Life-Giving Tomb that our Lord Jesus Christ, the God of all consolation, grant you health, longevity, and unwavering spiritual strength for the continuation of your sacred and national mission.”
