On the 2nd February 2026, Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, received Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan of the Moscow Patriarchate, who was leading a group of priests, monks, and pilgrims.
The Patriarch received the delegation with warmth and recalled his visit in previous years to the Metropolis of His Eminence Metropolitan Kyril. He also spoke of the multifaceted spiritual work carried out by the Patriarchate, in the light of the recently initiated and fragile agreement of peace.
The Patriarch likewise received the Metropolitan of Veria, who was leading a group of priests and pilgrims from his flock. On this occasion, His Beatitude referred in particular to the work accomplished by the Patriarchate through the power of the mystery of the Incarnation of Christ, the Divine Eucharist, and all the Holy Mysteries of the Church.
Subsequently, the Patriarch received Mr Marios Stavrou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Ramallah. The Ambassador expressed the goodwill of the Republic of Cyprus to provide financial assistance toward the educational work carried out by the Patriarchate. The Patriarch outlined this work to him and expressed his gratitude.
Finally, the Patriarch received the Franciscan monks Fr. Dobromir and Fr. Athanasios to discuss matters regarding the ongoing conservation work at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and at the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem.
