Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, in a heartfelt gesture of brotherly love, addressed a message to Patriarch John X of Antioch, expressing his unwavering solidarity with the Church of Antioch and the people of Syria as they endure the severe trials unfolding in the region.
In his letter, Patriarch Theophilos conveyed his profound sorrow over the ongoing situation in Syria and reaffirmed the unceasing support of the Church of Jerusalem for the Patriarchate of Antioch. “Our Holy Church stands by your side and by the side of the Syrian people, praying to the Lord God to strengthen and comfort you in these difficult times,” he wrote.
He emphasized the critical importance of unity and fraternal cooperation among Orthodox Churches, particularly during periods of hardship. He also highlighted the spiritual and historical significance of the Patriarchate of Antioch as a steadfast guardian of Orthodoxy in the East.
“Our prayers are with you, your Church, and all the people of Syria. Our faith in the Lord will provide strength and hope for a peaceful future,” Patriarch Theophilos concluded, underscoring his commitment to supporting their efforts for peace and resilience.
