A delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate visited the Patriarchate of Georgia on May 17, 2026.
The delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate consisted of Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain, Metropolitan Maximos of Selyvria, and Grand Syncellus Fr. Ieronymos.
The delegation was received by Patriarch Shio III of Georgia.
Also present were hierarchs of the Church of Georgia, including Metropolitan Theodore of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarjeti, Metropolitan Gerasimos of Zugdidi and Tsaishi, and Metropolitan Andrew of Gori.
The meeting, which took place on the afternoon of Saturday, May 16, was held in a particularly warm and cordial atmosphere.
