On July 2, Patriarch Shio III of Georgia received Petr Kubernat, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Georgia, at the headquarters of the Patriarchate of Georgia.
The Ambassador congratulated Patriarch Shio III on his election and enthronement, thanking him for the warm welcome.
During the meeting, special tribute was paid to the late Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II and his exceptional contributions. The two representatives also discussed relations between Georgia and the Czech Republic, emphasising the importance of their shared values, traditions, and cooperation.
The Czech Ambassador referred to the cultural, educational, and economic programmes being implemented in Georgia with the support of the Czech Republic and reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of symbolic gifts in a particularly cordial atmosphere.
