Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia expressed his deep sorrow in an official statement regarding the devastating consequences of the severe snowfall in Western Georgia, which has caused significant problems for the country and resulted in human casualties.
He emphasized the importance of solidarity and noted that the government, rescue services, and volunteers are making every possible effort to assist those affected. Furthermore, he announced that by the decision of the Patriarchate, food, clothing, medicine, and other essential supplies would be sent to those in need.
Finally, he offered prayers for God’s protection and blessings upon all those impacted by the disaster, as well as for the entire nation.

The severe snowfall in Western Georgia has brought heavy consequences for our people and the country as a whole.
Unfortunately, there have also been human casualties.
The government, rescue services, and volunteers are all striving to assist those caught in the disaster zone.
By the decision of Patriarch Ilia II of All Georgia, the Patriarchate of Georgia will send food, clothing, medicine, warm blankets, and other essential supplies to those affected.
May God bless those in the disaster zone, may He bless all of Georgia and protect it from hardship.
