Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria congratulated the newly elected Archbishop Ioannis of Albania on his election to the Archiepiscopal Throne of the Orthodox Church of Albania.
Patriarch Daniel spoke by telephone with the newly elected Archbishop of Albania, congratulating him and wishing that he continue the God-pleasing and fruitful work of his late predecessor, Archbishop Anastasios, “who restored the Church of Albania and became a great missionary of our time.”
For his part, Archbishop Ioannis of Albania expressed his deep gratitude to the Patriarch of Bulgaria for his well wishes and expressed his hope that the excellent relations between the two sister Churches will be maintained.
