On September 28, 2024, at the Holy Metropolis of Sofia, Patriarch Daniil of Bulgaria welcomed students from the Professional School of Agricultural Mechanization “Peyo Yavorov.” He also accepted an invitation to the P. Yavorov Church in Goce Delchev (Nevrokop).
The group, led by the school’s director, Angel Zhivkov, along with several teachers, was joined by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop and the Secretary of the Holy Metropolis of Nevrokop, Georgi Kumbarov.
During an informal conversation with Patriarch Daniil, the students explored a variety of topics, including the role of young people in the Church, how to live a fulfilling Christian life in today’s world, the significance of participating in Sunday worship and the Holy Eucharist, and the inspiring example of faith and love for God set by the saints of their homeland.
Patriarch Daniil emphasized that a meaningful, joyful, and hopeful life is only possible with God’s help through the Church. He reminded them that, as God Himself said, without Him, we can do nothing. He underscored the importance of staying close to God and living according to Christ’s commandments. God calls us to unity within the Church He established, urging us to respect, show patience, forgive, and correct one another, all while loving Him and loving each other as He loves us.
The Patriarch blessed the students and their teachers, gifting them the booklet For the Enlightenment of Learners (published by the Holy Metropolis of Vidin in 2024), along with icons of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary, as tokens of prayerful remembrance and spiritual blessing.
