Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, expressed his solidarity with the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch in light of the ongoing challenges facing Christians in Syria and the escalating situation in Lebanon.
In a message addressed to John X of Antioch, Patriarch Daniel conveyed his support, stating: “I express my solidarity with you and my support, given the violence faced by Christians in Syria and the military actions affecting Lebanon.”
The message, sent on March 31, 2026, in Damascus, reflects the concern of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church over the difficult circumstances in the region. Patriarch Daniel also assured that the Church stands in prayer during this time of trial, asking God “to open eyes and grant peace.”
Through his letter, the Bulgarian Patriarch reaffirmed the unity of the Orthodox Churches and their shared concern for the faithful enduring hardship, while emphasizing the need for peace, stability, and protection for all communities in the region.
