On May 14, 2025—25 days after the Resurrection of Christ—the Orthodox Church celebrated the Feast of Mid-Pentecost. To mark the occasion, a festive Divine Liturgy was held at the historic Church of Saint Sophia in Sofia, which honors the day as its second patronal feast. The service was presided over by Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, joined by Bishop Gerasim of Melnik and numerous clergy from the diocese.
The service was beautifully accompanied by the church choir, and following the Liturgy, Patriarch Daniel delivered a pastoral address. He reflected on the meaning of the feast, emphasizing the spiritual thirst of the human soul for communion with God. He underlined Christ’s role as the embodiment of Divine Wisdom and stressed the importance of cultivating virtues like humility, faith, and repentance to receive God’s grace and peace.
Patriarch Daniel spoke about the depth of God’s providence and the dignity bestowed upon the human soul as a dwelling place of God, reminding the faithful that even the smallest acts of holiness can bring transformative power to the world.
Father Kiril Didov, on behalf of the clergy and faithful, thanked the Patriarch for his spiritual leadership, his presence at the Liturgy, and his inspiring message.
