Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria congratulated and blessed the Bulgarian National Volleyball Team for their recent success, wishing them strength, health, and God’s grace to continue bringing victories to their team and to Bulgaria.
The silver medalists were welcomed at the Synodal Palace together with their coach Gianlorenzo Blengini, Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev, parliamentary secretary Nikolay Marinov, MP and first vice president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation Petar Kunev, and Valentin Zayakov, member of the parliamentary youth and sports committee.
“The great joy with which the people welcome you is no accident. More important than success is to have mutual understanding, brotherly love, and support for one another,” the Patriarch told the athletes, emphasizing that true progress is possible only with God’s grace.
At the end of the meeting, Patriarch Daniel gifted the team the newly published Synodal edition of the Bible and icons of St. Tsar Boris-Michael, encouraging them to pray whenever possible.
