Patriarch of Antioch: We take pride in the University of Balamand

On July 11, 2025, Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East presided over the Board of Trustees meeting of the University of Balamand, held at the university’s new campus in Dekwaneh, Beirut.

During the meeting, the academic and administrative progress of the university was reviewed at the close of the academic year, amid significant challenges facing higher education in Lebanon and the wider region.

The Patriarch warmly congratulated the university’s administration, led by Dr. Elias Warrak, emphasizing the important role the university plays and highlighting its Antiochian and Levantine mission, which remains open and accessible to all social communities.
