On July 6, 2025, Patriarch John X of Antioch areceived Lebanon’s Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Tarek Mitri, at the Patriarchal Residence in Balamand.
During their meeting, Patriarch John X and Dr. Mitri engaged in a wide-ranging discussion addressing current developments and the general situation in Lebanon and the broader region.
Dr. Mitri extended his heartfelt condolences for the victims of the recent massacre at Saint Elias Church in Dweilaa. He strongly condemned the attack, emphasizing that such acts of violence directly threaten the coexistence of all communities in the Middle East.
The Patriarch expressed his gratitude for the visit and reiterated the Church’s unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the protection of every human life regardless of religious or ethnic background.
