The Patriarchal Residence in Damascus, August 17, 2025, Patriarch John X of Antioch received a delegation from the Supreme Committee for the Elections of the Syrian People’s Assembly.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Patriarch on the progress of preparations and organizational procedures for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Syria. They also expressed their appreciation for the role of the Church in strengthening the spirit of national unity and supporting the Syrian people through times of hardship.
Patriarch John X, for his part, underlined the importance of civic responsibility, stressing that participation in national life reflects both faith and belonging. He reiterated the Church’s steadfast stance alongside the Syrian people, praying for peace, stability, and prosperity for the country.
