Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church, received the envoy of the new government of Syria, Dr. Abu Omar, at the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus.
The envoy conveyed to the Patriarch the greetings of Leader Ahmad Al-Sharaa. The meeting addressed many important points, including the position of Christians as indigenous citizens in Syria, beyond the concept of minorities and majorities, enjoying their freedom, rights, and duties. Additionally, it emphasized their role in building the future of Syria in partnership with all segments of Syrian society, across all aspects of national effort, including participation in drafting a new democratic constitution for the country, which ensures the establishment of the values of freedom, justice, and equality.
