Patriarch John X, leader of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, sent a heartfelt letter of condolence to the Holy Synod of the Church of Albania, mourning the passing of its Archbishop, Anastasios.
“We received with deep sorrow the news of the repose in the Lord of His Beatitude, the late Archbishop Anastasios,” the Patriarch wrote. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the clergy and faithful of the Church of Albania and pray fervently for the repose of his soul.”
In the message, Patriarch John X announced the delegation of two metropolitans, Metropolitan Ignatius of France and Western and Southern Europe, and Metropolitan Silouan of the British Isles and Ireland, to represent the Church of Antioch at the funeral.
“May his memory be eternal,” concluded the message, reflecting the profound respect and admiration for the late Archbishop’s life and ministry.
