At the Patriarchal Residence in Balamand, Patriarch John X of Antioch received the French Ambassador, Anne Grillo.
The Patriarch welcomed the French Ambassador, who thanked him for the warm welcome and expressed her happiness for the visit.
The Patriarch presented to the Ambassador the general situation and France’s important role in the region throughout history, and that France is still carrying out in the region, especially at this stage.
The discussion revolved around the concern over Lebanon and its current state, as the two sides discussed with difficulty and the subtleness of the ongoing stage.
The Patriarch insisted before Ambassador Grillo that a quick solution to the difficult Lebanese situation must be found to ensure a decent life for its people and that a government must be formed in the soonest possible time.
He also stressed the importance of the French initiative put forward by French President Emmanuel Macron, during his visit to Lebanon.
The French Ambassador, in turn, expressed that France continues to be on the side of the Lebanese people, whom France loves and strives to support at all levels.
France also assured that it would do anything necessary to help Lebanon.
