The progress of the restoration work at the Church of the Prophet Elias in Dweila, Damascus, was inspected by Patriarch of Antioch John.
The Church had been destroyed after the brutal terrorist bombing attack in June, which caused the death of dozens of people.
The Patriarch praised the efforts being made to restore the church and gave his own advice so that the church could be restored to its previous condition and even better.
Shortly after the terrorist attack on the church, the Patriarch of Antioch had spoken of the targeting of the Christian community in Syria, while addressing the new government of the country and President Ahmed Al-Sharaa, he had called for measures to be taken and the Christian populations in Syria to be protected, blaming the leadership for the terrorist attack.
