Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa presided over the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
Everyone was present to honor the primate of the Patriarchate and to receive his blessing, among them the President of the Greek Community of Cairo, Christos Kavalis, and representatives of the parish associations.
Patriarch Theodore accompanied by the Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo, Metropolitan Nikodimos of Memphis as reported by ekkairo.org.
“My President, my children, I am glad that I came for two days from Alexandria and I wanted to see you today, Apokreo Sunday, when Christ honored philanthropy. And this work that you carry out as a Community and we humbly as a Patriarchate throughout Africa. I wholeheartedly wish you a Happy Lent. I would like to bless you, to thank you for your love in our struggle since the Embassy and the Consulate, and our Communities are trying to maintain the Light of Orthodoxy, the Light of Greek community,” said Patriarch Theodore and blessed the faithful.
