Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed the Deputy Foreign Minister for Diaspora Greeks, Konstantinos Vlasis, at the Patriarchal Committee in Cairo.
“You have carried out an outstanding work and your missionary work is very important as it flies the flag of Orthodoxy. It is also one of our government’s priorities and very important for all of us,” said Konstantinos Vlasis to the Patriarch of Alexandria while conveying the greetings of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“You are a brilliant and important figure in Egypt, as both Orthodox and non-Orthodox respect you. That is why we will always be by your side and help Greek Diaspora and Orthodoxy, because you are the beacon of hope for peaceful coexistence,” Vlasis added, stressing the importance of the presence of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in the Middle East.
On his part, the primate of the African Orthodox Church thanked the deputy minister for highlighting the importance of the senior patriarchates, asking for support from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as well.
