Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria received Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia this morning at the offices of the Patriarchal Representation of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa in Athens.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Ioannis briefed the Patriarch on current issues and pastoral activities taking place in the Holy Metropolis of Zambia and Mozambique. He also introduced to the Patriarch the newly appointed Slavophone Protosyncellus of the Metropolis, Archimandrite Fr. Philaret.
The discussion also included organizational matters, while the program for the Patriarch’s upcoming pastoral visit to Zambia was finalized. The visit of Patriarch Theodore II is scheduled to take place in May and is expected to strengthen the presence and missionary work of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in the region.
The meeting was held in a spirit of paternal affection and ecclesiastical unity.
