Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria sent a congratulatory message to the newly elected Patriarch of Bulgaria, Daniel.
In his letter, he expressed joy and commendation for Patriarch Daniel’s election to the Patriarchal Throne of the Autocephalous Church of Bulgaria. Patriarch Theodore highlighted the significance of this God-given election, succeeding the late Patriarch Neophytos, and extended heartfelt wishes for strength in guiding the Church in Bulgaria.
He also referenced the special spiritual ties with the late Metropolitan Nathaniel. Patriarch Theodore wished for a long, happy, unifying, and fruitful primacy for Patriarch Daniel, bringing glory to God and pride to the Bulgarian people.

Your Beatitude Metropolitan Daniel of Sofia and Patriarch of all Bulgaria, dear brother in Christ and co-celebrant, we commend Your Beatitude in the Lord.
The news of your election to the Patriarchal Throne of the Autocephalous Church of Bulgaria has reached us in the land of the Nile, bringing joy to our hearts and to the Hierarchy and clergy of our Elder Church of St. Mark.
Your God-given election signifies auspicious beginnings, succeeding the late Patriarch Neophytos. It is our heartfelt wish that the blessings support you in the high and heavy work of steering the Church in Bulgaria, along with the wishes of your spiritual father, the late Metropolitan Nathaniel, with whom we shared special spiritual ties.
We wholeheartedly wish that your Primacy will be long, happy, unifying, and fruitful, bringing glory to God and pride to the devout Bulgarian people.
