Yesterday, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by the Metropolitan Panteleimon of Brazzaville and Gabon, and the Bishop Theodore of Babylon, went to Pointe-Noire, a town in the Republic of Congo.
Patriarch Theodore received a warm welcome by holy clergymen, the highest military and political local authorities and a faithful crowd.
Immediately after that, the Head of the Patriarchate of Alexandria went to the Parish Community of Hagia Fotini where a celebration was sung.
On Saturday afternoon, His Eminence officiated the Vesper for the opening of the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire, after depositing the sacred relics at the inaugurated Altar.
The second day of the visit of the Patriarch at Congo was concluded with his visit to the Holy Metropolis of Brazzaville and with attending dinner at Pointe-Noire Governor’s residence.
