Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria was present yesterday at the invitation of A. Kenneth Merten, Ambassador of the United States of America to Bulgaria, at a reception at the American Embassy, where a celebration was held on the occasion of the upcoming national holiday – Independence Day.
Patriarch Daniel was congratulated on his election and assumption of office by Ambassador Merten, as well as numerous public figures and politicians, including the acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, ambassadors, and others.
