Today, Saturday, June 29, the registration process for participants in the Patriarchal Electoral Church Council (EPC) at the Patriarchate of Bulgaria commenced. This council will take place tomorrow. Registration started as scheduled at 10:00 a.m. in the Office of the Holy Synod, located in the hall of the Supreme Church Council, and was overseen by the Credentials Commission.
The Credentials Commission members are: Metropolitan Arsenii of Sliven, Angel Angelov, Geordi Dimitrov, Deacon Kostadin Boychin, Ivan Mlechkov, Neli Peshakova, Maria Vukashinova.
Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora, the council’s speaker, congratulated the commission members and wished them fruitful work.
At 6:00 p.m. local time today, a solemn vespers service will be celebrated in the ancient church of St. Sophia by Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop. The service will be attended by heads and representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches, along with their delegations and other guests.
