A pastoral visit was carried out by Metropolitan Iakovos of Ireland to the parish of Saint Nicholas and Saint Finbarr in Cork. The Eucharistic Assembly was hosted at St. Matthew’s Church, Quay.
His Eminence was accompanied by Fr. Ieremias Bruke, while the chanters were Miltiadis Kotsokolos and Michail Vogiatzis. Faithful who live and work in the city of Cork participated in the Divine Liturgy.
The parish is under formation, continues to grow steadily, and awaits the granting of a permanent sacred place of worship by the Roman Catholic Church. The Holy Metropolis is in dialogue with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cork and anticipates a positive outcome to the discussions concerning the provision of a space where the Eucharistic Liturgical Assemblies may be celebrated.
The Metropolitan addressed the faithful with an appropriate spiritual message and extended his wishes for a blessed Christmas and a blessed New Year 2026, assuring them that he will soon be with them again.
