The Holy Week liturgies were celebrated solemnly by Metropolitan Bartholomew at the Church of Agia Fotini in Smyrna.
The members pf various ethnic origins of the Orthodox community of Smyrna thronged the church on Palm Sunday to commemorate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
In his sermon, Metropolitan Bartholomew urged believers to build their faith on solid foundations “which are the acceptance of the teaching of our Lord as active and true members of our Holy Church.”
Moreover, the faithful attended with reverence the Service of the Bridegroom.
