OrthodoxTimes’ Confirmation: Another GOC Metropolitan joined Filaret’s “Kyiv Patriarchate”

The Metropolitan of “Dervenochorion, Avlida, Elikona and All Kopaida” Chrysostomos Kallis of the organization of Old Calendarists (Genuine Orthodox Christians) was received in the ranks of the abolished organization “Kyiv Patriarchate” by the former Metropolitan of Kyiv Filaret fully confirming OrthodoxTimes.

According to a statement posted on the website of the so-called “Kyiv Patriarchate” headed by Metropolitan Filaret, “the Council of Bishops chaired by the Patriarch of Kyiv Filaret” met on December 13.

Among the decisions of the Synod was to receive – “at his request” – Metropolitan Chrysostom (Kallis) “with the parishes and clergy belonging to the Diocese of the Hellenic Church of the Old Calendarists, in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate.”

This announcement by the organization of Filaret confirms the publication of orthodoxtimes.com on December 2, according to which Filaret, tries to gather all the Greek old calendarists under his “omophorion”.

The article said that after the “joining” in the “Kyiv Patriarchate” of the “Metropolitan of Aegina and Poros” Afxentios (Marinis), of the Genuine Orthodox Christians organization, which took place on October 23, Filaret came in contact with other old calendarists in Greece, and that in fact the new Metropolitan of the Old Calendarists was considered imminent around the middle of December, at the meeting of the “Holy Synod of the Kyiv Patriarchate”.
