The year we have just completed has not been without anxieties and challenging situations that have tested people’s faith.
In addition to the two ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza, there was unrest in Syria, with all that this entails for the Christian – and not only Christian – populations of the region.
Our thoughts are with the Patriarchates of Antioch and Jerusalem and with Ukraine.
The year 2025 brings all the concerns and problems of 2024, but it also brings hope.
Hope that Church leaders will contribute to the reconciliation of nations and Churches, that they will not inflame tensions but offer guidance, and that they will avoid choosing “sides” and instead move forward with the Word of the Lord.
We at Orthodox Times will continue to honor your trust. We will report events quickly and accurately, addressing issues others overlook or shy away from.
Journalists, translators, and administrative staff, we are committed to ensuring that in 2025 we will continue to deliver news about Orthodoxy even more promptly, with the same reliability, and with a critical perspective.
We wish everyone a Happy New Year and a prosperous and bright 2025.
