With the hope that peace will prevail throughout the world and unity within the Orthodox Church, we welcome 2026.
The year 2025 departed with mixed emotions. On everyone’s mind is the war that continues to rage in Ukraine, as well as the dozens of Christian lives lost in various parts of the world, especially in Nigeria.
At a time when Christianity is under attack, we cannot but hope, at the very least, that divisions among the Churches will come to an end.
In the final days of the year, a ray of light appeared with the visit of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria to the Phanar and his concelebration with the Ecumenical Patriarch.
It is the wish of us all that 2026 will bring a greater willingness for dialogue and reconciliation from all sides. Christianity is under attack in many parts of the planet. Let it not be attacked from within as well.
At Orthodox Times, we will continue to honor the trust you place in us. We report events with speed and reliability, and we address issues that for many are considered “off-limits.”
Journalists, translators, and administrative staff alike are committed to ensuring that in 2026 we will continue to bring you news from the Orthodox world even more promptly, with the same credibility and with an even more critical perspective.
We wish everyone a Happy New Year, and a bright and joyful 2026.
