The annual conference of the clergy of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church’s Warsaw-Bielsko Diocese was held on May 18, 2026, in Bielsk Podlaski at the Parish of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
The gathering began with the Divine Liturgy celebrated by Archbishop Grzegorz, concelebrated by Bishop Warsonofiusz, deans, and diocesan clergy. The clergy choir of the Warsaw-Bielsko Diocese sang under the direction of Protodeacon Marek Maciuka.
During the service, Archbishop Grzegorz awarded ecclesiastical distinctions to several priests on behalf of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church for their service to the Church.
Following the Liturgy, Metropolitan Sawa addressed the clergy, emphasizing the great responsibility of the priesthood and the importance of faithful and zealous ministry rooted in the Holy Eucharist. He also stressed the need for steadfast faith, pastoral wisdom, and dedication to serving both the Church and society.
The plenary session later took place at the Bielsk Cultural Center under the theme “The Marriage of Priests.” Metropolitan Sawa highlighted the Orthodox understanding of marriage as an eternal, monogamous, and spiritually healing union, while encouraging clergy to endure difficulties with patience as part of spiritual growth.
The conference also reflected on the historical trials faced by the Church during the past century, including wars and displacement, emphasizing the Church’s continued fidelity to its mission despite suffering.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Fr. Mitrat Prof. Henryk Paprocki, followed by a response presentation by Fr. Tarazjusz Diachuk. The conference concluded with discussions on parish life and pastoral ministry.
