On April 3, 2026, two ordinations took place in the house church dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker at the Metropolitan Residence in the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
On the same day, during a session of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Archimandrite Theodosiy (Liakhovych) and Archimandrite Rafail (Zhyhal) were elected to serve as auxiliary bishops of the Kyiv Diocese.
Archimandrite Theodosiy was nominated as Bishop of Irpin, while Archimandrite Rafail was nominated as Bishop of Makariv.
Following their election, both bishop-elects participated in the official ordination ceremony and addressed Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, as well as the members of the episcopate, delivering their traditional addresses.
