On the Feast of the Holy Trinity (Pentecost), May 31, 2026, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over the Divine Liturgy at St. Volodymyr’s Patriarchal Cathedral in Kyiv.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine were Bishop Ephraim of Vasylkiv, Bishop Raphael of Makariv, the cathedral’s dean, Archpriest Borys Tabachek, members of the cathedral clergy, and invited priests.
Following the Gospel reading, Metropolitan Epifaniy delivered a homily and offered a special prayer for Ukraine as the country continues to face the challenges and dangers brought by the ongoing war.
During the service, prayers were offered for the Ukrainian armed forces, the country’s authorities and people, as well as for the repose of the souls of all soldiers and civilians who have lost their lives during the war.
Metropolitan Epifaniy also ordained Deacon Rostyslav Didukh to the priesthood.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan celebrated Vespers with the traditional kneeling prayers of Pentecost and sprinkled the faithful with holy water.
A memorial service was also held at the grave of the late Patriarch Filaret.
