On May 14, 2026, the working session of the Serbian Orthodox Church’s highest hierarchical, ecclesiastical-legislative and ecclesiastical-judicial body commenced in the crypt of the Holy Great Martyr Prince Lazar at the Church of Saint Sava in Vračar. The session was presided over by Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia and attended by the diocesan bishops.
In accordance with the prescribed procedure, the session began with the adoption of the agenda, consisting of matters submitted by the Holy Synod of Bishops. This was followed by consideration of reports on the archpastoral work of all diocesan hierarchs, as well as the central church bodies, institutions and agencies.
At the end of the session, the Assembly will release a public communiqué detailing its work.
